Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of any game published by Studio 42 ("we", "us"), including Wild Hive and Coffee Press, on every platform we release them on (each a "Game"). By installing or playing a Game, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information and forms part of these terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play the Game for your own entertainment on devices you own or control. If you obtained the Game through Steam, your use is also subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement; if through the App Store or Google Play, to Apple's or Google's terms of service respectively.

Some Games are free to download and let you play a limited portion (for example, a limited number of in-game years, levels, or maps). Purchasing the full version, or holding an active subscription, unlocks the rest of the Game for as long as that license or subscription remains active.

Purchases and subscriptions

All purchases inside our Games are made through the storefront you installed the Game from (the App Store, Google Play, or Steam), under that storefront's terms. Prices, including any applicable taxes, are shown to you in the storefront before you confirm a purchase. We never see or store your payment details.

Where a Game offers an auto-renewing subscription:

  • The subscription length and price are shown before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Uninstalling the Game does not cancel a subscription.
  • If a subscription lapses, the content it unlocked becomes limited again. Your saved progress is kept, and resubscribing or purchasing the full version restores access to it.
  • Any free trial or introductory offer, where available, is described in the storefront when you subscribe, and converts to the standard price at its end unless cancelled beforehand.

A one-time purchase of the full version and a subscription unlock the same content; you do not need both.

Restoring purchases

Purchases are tied to your App Store, Google Play, or Steam account. If you reinstall a Game or move to a new device, use the Game's "Restore" option (or your storefront's own mechanism) while signed in to the same account to recover what you have bought.

Refunds

Refunds for purchases and subscriptions are handled by the storefront where you made them, under its refund policy (for example Apple's, Google Play's, or Steam's). We are not able to issue refunds directly.

Ownership

Each Game, including its code, artwork, audio, and other content, is owned by Studio 42 and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Purchasing a Game, or any content within it, gives you a license to play it, not ownership of the Game or its content.

Acceptable use

  • Don't redistribute, resell, or rent a Game or any of its content.
  • Don't remove or circumvent technical protections provided by the storefront you obtained it from, or interfere with the Game's purchase or unlock mechanisms.
  • Streaming, videos, and screenshots of our Games are welcome, monetized or not.

Updates

We may update, change, or discontinue features of a Game at any time. Updates may be delivered automatically through your storefront. If we discontinue a Game entirely, any active subscription to it will be cancelled and not renewed.

Disclaimer of warranty

Each Game is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will be compatible with every device.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of a Game. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Game (or, for a subscription, in the twelve months before the claim). Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued play after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Any change that affects an active subscription's price will be made through the storefront, which will notify you and ask for your consent where its rules require.
